Catching Up With Cartoonist and Satirist David Rees

I don't know about you but David Rees's Get Your War On helped get me through the early years of "the war on terror." Unlike other political comics these characters didn't just talk about and react to what the Bush administration said and did. They drank, over ate, experienced irrational hope and despair and said alternately insightful and amazingly ignorant things to each other. In my opinion Rees created the most brilliant marriage of clip art and vulgar language imaginable.

More importantly, he's still at it.

Visit his web site for his other comics (including My New Fighting Technique is Unstoppable), links to other satirical work, the dead-serious mine clearing team supported by Get Your War On royalties, his blog (read it on his main page or subscribe thus: http://www.mnftiu.cc/feed/) and links to online shops carrying his books.

Do yourself a favor and read some of his comics. Yes, he uses clip art. That's part of the point.
